Description
While this page does not show any appearances in Townsend's store of Roe or Woodhull, there are large cash sums that Townsend is taking. Small amounts add up to over 80 pounds, and by the end of the page Townsend is taking the preferred hard metal Guinea coin, with over 23 Guineas. Additionally, Townsend credits his business partner Henry Oakman with a withdrawal of cash for some 400 pounds in the midst of several of his other cash withdrawals, but Oakman usually signed his own cash withdrawals, noting their purpose. This suggests Townsend was trying to disguise the amounts of cash he was actually taking.
